Thanks H.K. Chefs and the induction of 2 new Cordon Noir Members

It is not only a exhibition or a dinner , it is that combined friendship, camaraderie and enthusiasm which brings a clean judging , a crystal feeling and pure fun to my soul when attended your superb HOFEX Culinary Challenge as Judge and that Cordon Noir Dinner at the Hong Kong Disney Hotel as President of Cordon Noir.
Both, the culinary show as well friendship aspects making these two events real and pure fun.
Rudolf Muller organized my stay in Hong Kong as well that fantastic Cordon Noir dinner, on the 17. May, at the Snow-white Ballroom at Disney Hotel.
Friends like Otto Weibel, John Sloane and many others made it to Cordon Noir Hong Kong because HOFEX gave the possibility with that direct line up dates.
65 Person attended the beautiful dinner and enjoyed the perfect matching wines selected by Executive Gourmet for Hong Kong, Rudolf Muller.
That real heartbreaker for me was the attendance of 65 Person including 53 % Oversea Visitor.
Whooo… what a feeling from my side if you think that 39 friends flown in special for that Cordon Noir Dinner. Making a journey to a Fun and enjoyment Guaranty Event from Philippines, Indonesia, China, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore and so on.
How nice this society grown over the past 19 years, since 1988 in Beijing, where a travel from far as Australia is no handicap any more and friendship meaning so much. Maybe this is the key to success, friendship and not only budget like seen daily in our business, for the cordon noir at least it is.
Eddy and Perry cooked a Magical Snow White Menu with taste ambience running through an Opera with 4 Act, consuming beside that beautiful fresh Ingredients the 2.5 kg Caviar palette reaching from Iranian farmed Ossietra, farmed Imperial, Russian Ossietra in size of Beluga, Sturgeon roe and Salmon roe.
It was a real treat given to all participants. Thank you Hong Kong and Thank you Rudolf. Muller, Disney Land and Hofex.
Thank you Hong Kong Chefs making my visit a fantastic one!

The Hong Kong Electric Company provided 4 kitchens, in which 4 Legco members, buddies up with one mentally disabled student, and they had to cook together a delicious meal of their choice with in 20 minutes.
We the judges, Committee member Mak Kam Kui and I had the hard task to assess the meals in regards to Taste, Nutrition, Creativity, Appearance, Hygiene, Tidiness and Cooperation.
Awards were given for the Most Delicious Dish (Gold and Silver), The Healthiest Dish and the most cooperative team.
They all worked very well together, no accidents, no burnt or uncooked food, and it was a lot of fun and the Legco members did a great job all around , the food tasted very good, in some cases, the had practiced at home with the help of their wife’s.
The big winner was the team of Hon. Lee Wing-tat, their chicken wings were excellent. Hon. Fred LI Wah-ming, JP created with his buddy a nice prawn dish and came in second.
The healthiest Dish was defiantly cooked by Hon. Wong Kwok-hing, MH and his team buddy who used a lot of Vegetable. Hon. Ronny Tong Ka-wah, SC showed great compassion and team work with his assistant and therefore received the most cooperative team award.
The student chefs were very happy in receiving the awards for their work done, to be appreciated and in the lime light, for a brief moment.
It was a heartwarming event to create awareness amongst the people in regards to the mentally disadvantages members of our community and the ongoing effort to embrace and integrate them as much as possible to the everyday life we take for granted so easily.
A big Thank you to the Fu Hong Society and we the Hong Kong Chefs Association will do our part in serving the community to the best of our abilities
